Senior Reverse Engineer

KBR is seeking a highly skilled Senior Reverse Engineer onsite in our Beavercreek office to lead and mentor our Reverse Engineering and Vulnerability Research team. In this critical role, you will leverage your extensive expertise and passion for security to drive complex reverse engineering projects, uncover vulnerabilities, and develop innovative proof-of-concept exploits for those vulnerabilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of reverse engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Spearhead full-scope reverse engineering efforts across hardware, firmware, software, and network protocols.

  • Architect and implement advanced reverse engineering frameworks, tools, and methodologies.

  • Perform in-depth analysis of system components, architectures, and interactions to identify vulnerabilities and potential attack vectors.

  • Develop innovative solutions to mitigate security risks and enhance the resilience of our systems.

  • Stay at the forefront of reverse engineering techniques and emerging threats through continuous research and exploration.

  • Communicate complex technical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Represent KBR at industry conferences and events, sharing your expertise and thought leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience with at least 5 in reverse engineering, with a proven track record of success.

  • Deep understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and software development principles.

  • Expert proficiency in assembly language, C/C++, Python, and other relevant programming languages.

  • Mastery of reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, and debuggers.

  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, cryptography, and security vulnerabilities.

  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

  • Experience managing customer relations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in hardware reverse engineering, firmware analysis, and embedded systems.

  • Published research papers or presentations at security conferences.

  • Contributions to open-source projects or security communities.

  • Strong understanding of threat modeling and security assessment methodologies.
