Cloud Security Architect

As part of our growing security function we are looking for a passionate Information Security Architect to join our team.

With 2+ years experience in Information Security Engineering and/or Architecture, preferably in a FinTech and or Software Development environment, you will be responsible for implementing information security practices and procedures to ensure our systems are secure and that we continue to deliver Level 1 PCI-DSS compliance and beyond.

Passionate about Information Security, you will be comfortable working in a time pressured dynamic environment, proactively monitoring emerging threats and responding appropriately. You should have experience of working as part of a wider Information Security Team.

Roles and responsibilities:

- Works closely with the Architecture team and liaises between Security, Development and Operations teams.

- Designs and documents risk mitigations for new and existing projects ensuring that controls meet compliance requirements and internal standards.

- Subject matter expert for secure application and architecture design, consulting and advising across technical teams.

- Assists with aligning security controls across platforms, applications and environments.

- Researches, designs and advocates for new security controls and technologies in support of security requirements for NMI.

- Contributes to development and maintenance of NMI’s Information Security strategy.

- Evaluates, develops and designs security solutions in coordination with the security operations and compliance team.

- Assesses information security risk, business impact and exposure related to new and existing applications, architectures and environments.

- Communicates security risks, opportunities, designs and opportunities to stakeholders.

Requirements

The Ideal candidate will have:

- Experience of cloud technologies including on-prem to cloud migration.

- Broad understanding of multiple cloud platforms for example GCP, AWS and Azure.

- Has an excellent understanding of Web Application and API driven technologies.

- Comprehends and understands security risk and is able to communicate effectively regarding risk and providing appropriate and implementable mitigations.

- Threat modeling and security evaluation of architecture, applications and design. Think like a hacker.

- Strong written, presentation and interpersonal skills especially experience of influencing and negotiation.

- Understanding of end-to-end design of applications and deployments.

- Collaborative approach to working with Operations and Development teams.

- Understanding of security operations and integration of Cloud infrastructure.

- Hashicorp product experience an advantage.

- Containerisation strategies and security implications.
