Network Security Engineer

Job Purpose:  

Network Security Engineer requires a Network Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) with excellent communication skills for active collaboration with associates within the team and various external teams. It will actively operate and manage Network Security technologies and ensure their health. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and be able to work with little supervision.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of network security principles, with a focus on firewalls, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and policy orchestration. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing network security measures to protect our organization's data and infrastructure.

We are searching for a Network Security Engineer to join our growing Secure Connectivity team, part of Cyber Technology. This position will be located in our Malaysia office.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, implement, and manage firewall policies and configurations to ensure robust network security.

  • Support and manage ZTNA solutions to enforce strict access controls and enhance security.

  • Improve policy orchestration processes to improve security operations efficiency.

  • Support network security assessments and environment analysis to identify and mitigate risks.

  • Support and respond to and resolve network security incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into network infrastructure projects.

  • Maintain and update network security documentation, including policies, procedures, and configurations.

  • Keep abreast of emerging security technologies and industry best practices to continually improve network defenses.

Qualifications/Education - Minimum Requirements:

  • Typically has 4+ years relevant experience in IT. Almost 2 years in network security field.

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

Critical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of firewalls, ZTNA, and policy orchestration.

  • Familiarity with network protocols, routing, and switching.

  • Experience with security incident response and mitigation.

  • Hands-on experience with network security tools and technologies.

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with ticketing and case management solutions

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CCNP Security, GIAC)

  • Automation and orchestration knowledge is a plus

  • Web Application Firewall knowledge is a plus

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and disciplined, with excellent time management skills

  • Experience with implementing IT security configuration standards

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional non-standard work hours or overtime as business requires.

  • On-call availability required as necessary.

  • Some travel required.
