Network Security Specialist

Job Purpose:  

Network Security Specialist requires a Network Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) with excellent communication skills for active collaboration with associates within the team and various external teams. It will actively operate and manage Network Security technologies and ensure their health. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and be able to work with little supervision.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Security Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of network security principles, with a focus on firewalls, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and policy orchestration. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing network security measures to protect our organization's data and infrastructure.

We are searching for a Network Security Specialist to join our growing Secure Connectivity team, part of Cyber Technology. This position will be located in our Malaysia office.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineer and support firewall deployment and solutions to protect network boundaries and control traffic.

  • Design, implement and maintain ZTNA frameworks to enhance the security posture of our network.

  • Develop, improve and enforce policy orchestration processes to streamline security operations.

  • Support and develop orchestration technologies for ACL process automation.

  • Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security measures are integrated into all aspects of the network infrastructure.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continually improve our security strategies.

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on network security best practices and policies.

Qualifications/Education - Minimum Requirements:

  • Typically has 6+ years relevant experience in IT. Almost 4 years in network security field.

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

Critical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of firewalls, ZTNA, and policy orchestration.

  • Familiarity with network protocols, routing, and switching.

  • Experience with security incident response and mitigation.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong commitment to teamwork.

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and disciplined, with excellent time management skills

  • Experience with ticketing and case management solutions

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CCNP Security, GIAC)

  • Automation and orchestration knowledge is a plus

  • Web Application Firewall knowledge is a plus

  • Experience with implementing IT security configuration standards

    Working Conditions:

  • Occasional non-standard work hours or overtime as business requires.

  • On-call availability required as necessary.

  • Some travel required.
