Description

NexGen Data Systems is looking for a Systems Integration Engineer to provide leadership, technical direction, and execution for an integration centric team in support of a large-scale Hybrid Cloud/datacenter team. This individual will provide technical direction for multiple tool integration efforts, while focusing on automation of technical execution and management tasks. 


Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Identify and understand opportunities to improve via automation and integration of existing tools, applications, services, or technologies. 
  • Be a strong champion to do things better, faster, simpler, easier, and cheaper, across technical and process change.
  • Employ systems thinking to architect solutions, educate others, elicit adoption, develop, and implement. 
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders of varying technical expertise to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Research and recommend systems, equipment, and technologies through the collection and analysis of data. Curate documents that relate to integration principles. 
  • Clearly documents technology plans and implementation to facilitate the efficient support of the environment. 
  • Provide aftercare to clients and disparate teams, such as integration support for previously installed software and programs. 
  • Systems and project design and architecture delivering solutions of high quality and reliability. 
  • Software installation, configuration, integration, documentation, and support. 
  • System management, monitoring, and tuning activities. 
  • Provide escalation support for assigned technologies as needed. 
  • Problem determination resolution and documentation 
  • Analyzes existing operations and makes recommendations for the improvement and development of the relevant IT systems. 
  • Communicates with vendors and service providers to gain a clear understanding of product or service capabilities and costs. 
  • Collaborates with service providers and external vendors on root cause analysis for problems related to technology. 
  • Communicates in written and verbal forms to all levels of the organization on service issues and plans. 
  • Systems security and vulnerability remediation for applicable tools integration. 
  • New technology awareness, research, and system integration. 
  • Perform Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs) to help the government determine the best available solution to meet its requirements.

Requirements

Desired/Required Skills: 

  • BS degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science/Information Systems Technology with Ten (10) years of experience with engineering within Enterprise Hosting Environments to include experience with: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test & Evaluation Criteria, or Logistics support of C4ISR requirements. Five (5) years of technical experience in support of Enterprise Hosting. Experience may be achieved simultaneously. OR Technical Training in relevant enterprise hosting technology areas and Eighteen (18) years of hands-on experience with Enterprise Hosting or similar projects, to include three (3) of the following five (5) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Data Analysis, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Experience may be achieved simultaneously Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and/or public service (Department of Defense) leadership in Information Technology, Architecture or Engineering 
  • Secret clearance or higher preferred 
  • Ability to derive results from teams without direct authority. 
  • Ability to receive direction yet work independently as a solution owner. 
  • Ability to proactively identify potential issues and provide recommended solutions. 
  • Ability to perform API integration using Python, BASH, Powershell, or similar. 
  • Effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical teams. 
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Detail oriented to ensure a high level of quality/accuracy. 
  • Significant experience with two or more of the following technical areas: Python, BASH, PowerShell, or other scripting or programming languages (minimum 2) 
  • Splunk Enterprise (on prem or cloud), Splunk SOAR or Security a plus 
  • ACAS Administration (API integration a plus) 
  • OpenRMF or STIG Manager, or other similar cyber security tools 
  • Ansible (Tower), Puppet, Chef, Terraform, Containerization, Jenkins, or similar 
  • Understanding of regular expressions (Regex) a plus 
  • Experience with Confluence and/or JIRA a plus
