Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize automated security solutions to enhance threat detection and incident response within the SOC, using automation software like n8n, tines, and webhooks.

  • Perform detailed security event analysis and incident handling by automating routine and manual tasks.

  • Collaborate closely with SOC teams to understand operational needs and develop automation strategies that improve detection capabilities and operational efficiency.

  • Create and maintain scripts in Python or other scripting languages to automate data processing and analysis, contributing to the continuous improvement of SOC analytics.

  • Document automation processes and provide comprehensive training materials to enable SOC analysts and MDR teams to effectively use new tools and procedures.

  • Work closely as a liaison between the SOC and the engineering teams to define and build out requirements for proper infrastructure deployment to enable automation efforts.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity with a strong focus on SOC operations, incident response, and automation.

  • Profound knowledge of adversarial behaviors and current threat landscape, capable of automating responses and analyses throughout the attack chain.

  • Expertise in security automation, including the development of custom tools and scripts, with proficiency in Python and familiarity with other scripting languages.

  • Demonstrable experience with automation platforms such as n8n and tines, using webhooks effectively, and configuring advanced SOAR and Hive tools.

  • Solid understanding of network protocols, multiple operating systems (Windows, OSX), and basic forensic analysis techniques.

  • Strong skills in API integrations and orchestrating security tools to enhance SOC operations and threat handling processes.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with ELK stack, advanced threat hunting, and conducting forensic analysis.

  • Experience in developing and utilizing automation tools, with hands-on capabilities in managing webhooks and APIs.

  • Advanced knowledge in data analysis and visualization tools to support security insights.
