Systems Administrator

The Opportunity:

Your combination of people skills and system administrator knowledge makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. What if you could use those skills to improve the technology supporting the Navy or Marine Corp? We’re looking for a system administrator who can manages the day-to-day operations and effectiveness in support of both Windows and Linux based tactical systems, maintain and update systems while troubleshooting, and assess the cause for systems failures. You’ll apply specific functional knowledge and working and general industry knowledge, and develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. You’ll work independently with some guidance, and review or guide activities of junior employees.

As a system administrator on our team, you’ll ensure the current infrastructure is functional and available, while constantly looking for ways to improve the reliability and effectiveness using latest technology and the best implementation strategies. You will also perform general system maintenance and upkeep such as performing regular system updates and patching. You’ll help clients overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management. Your knowledge will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical system. Your communication skills will come in handy as you turn metrics into information and articulate their meaning.

You Have: 

  • Experience assessing, auditing, configuring, and authorizing information systems
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, system administration, compliance, and vulnerability assessments
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience managing and troubleshooting both Linux and Windows based systems.
  • Knowledge of computer networking
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master's degree
  • CISSP Certification
  • Security+ Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
