The Role

At Ekco our People are our everything. We are seeking a talented and motivated Network Security and Operations Engineer to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity for experienced engineers and those aspiring to specialize in network security to contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure. Graduates applications are welcome as we have junior and apprentice roles that we look to develop as part of our next generation cyber defence team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions utilizing technologies such as Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Forescout, Vectra and Trellix.
• Monitor and analyze network traffic for potential security threats and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
• Configure and manage firewalls, network detection and response systems, network IPS, switch management, and network access control.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the security and reliability of our network infrastructure.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in network security technologies and best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience in network security operations, with a strong understanding of firewall configurations, network detection and response, network IPS, switch management, and network access control would be an advantage.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Forescout, Vectra and Trellix.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA Security, CISSP, CompTIA Security+) are a plus but not required.
