WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Unleash your inner potential in JLR’s Cyber Security Software position. You will be working within hybrid and electrified powertrains that support JLR’s objective of delivering clean and efficient products to our customers. In-house development of the embedded base software provides JLR with the capability to rapidly develop and deploy a platform for the application control software, maximising the benefits of these technologies through a short time to market, and delivering unique industry-leading features. In the Cyber Security Software role, you will be key in delivering the base software cybersecurity features for our next generation of Electrification components.

 

You will be responsible for base software cybersecurity feature configuration, development, integration, build, and delivery. Working closely with the lead cyber base software engineer and the team to optimise performance, providing the cybersecurity services required by JLR’s next generation of electrified vehicles. The role encompasses developing the supporting toolchain and processes and working on the company's quality procedures.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Working with the cybersecurity systems and software teams, feeding into the base software plan and software sprints with cybersecurity requirements and bug fixes, able to assess the feasibility and commit to your part of the software delivery plan
  • Configure the base software AUTOSAR stack for the cybersecurity features and application
  • Develop complex device drivers and low-level software, primarily in C code, to support the base software cybersecurity features, hardware security module (HSM), and application elements
  • Work with suppliers, partners, and internal teams to integrate cybersecurity elements of the base software, aligning interfaces to ensure compatibility in the source repository delivery ‘stream’
  • Develop a testing strategy and test methods, executing testing on the base software cybersecurity features on development boards and target hardware
     

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Experience in embedded control software development environments & concepts for cybersecurity features, covering hardware security modules (HSM), cryptography, certificates & key management, signing, as well as RTOS, memory, data integrity, hardware I/O, runtime analysis, and failure modes
  • Experience in the cybersecurity system engineering workflow, TARA, and security case development following UNECE.R155 and ISO21434
  • Embedded C Code development experience at the microprocessor & electronic peripherals level, within a real-time control environment
  • Experience of AUTOSAR stack configuration or equivalent and knowledge of all constituent part
  • Experience working with suppliers & customers, both internal and external, in the delivery of embedded control software
