Summary of Position:

Our team is looking for an entry level network and security analyst to assist with the implementation, management, and maintenance of our security infrastructure. You will work closely with the Director of IT and the Infrastructure Team to protect the organization’s systems, networks, and data from potential threats and vulnerabilities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of Information Security.   

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the administration of security tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Monitor security event logs, investigate and respond to security incidents, and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the security team to perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address potential weaknesses in the infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Assist in creating security awareness training sessions for employees to promote best practices and ensure a security-conscious culture.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including incident handling, containment, and recovery efforts.
  • Stay updated with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.

 

Education, Background, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) 
  • Knowledge of Cisco Switches, Routers, Wi-Fi, and Firewalls
  • Knowledge of AWS Networking and Security
  • Solid understanding of fundamental security principles and concepts
  • Familiarity with common security tools, such as firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability scanners
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA), or similar a plus
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, etc.)
    • Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, macOS) and their security features.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and troubleshoot security issues
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
    • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of information security
    • Prior experience in a security-related role or internships in information security
    • Microsoft, Security, or other IT Certifications a plus
    • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls
    • Experience with security compliances a plus (SOC2, FERPA, FedRamp, PCI, etc.)

           

          Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, based on a 40 hour work week.
