JOB SUMMARY

This job leads the executive positioning, strategic, and change management communications that enhances the organizations brand, mission, and vision for its employees, stakeholders and customers. Responsible for providing and consulting on strategic direction and oversight of comprehensive internal, external, and international communication strategies, as well as internal and external change communication management plans. Builds internal and external strategic communication direction that best benefits the organization, its employee’s and stakeholder’s needs. Collaboratively works with senior and executive leaders to ensure communication strategies are effective, consistent, and aligned with overall goals. Leverages modern strategic communication and marketing practices based on current industry best practices. Champion and deeply embrace positive change management practices and methodologies to support change within the organization and our customers. This role must have experience in change management, strategic communications, and marketing experience.

         

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a trusted communications strategist and consultant within the organization by providing comprehensive strategic communication direction and communication best practices for internal , external and international stakeholders.
  • Direct and oversee the execution of communication and change management plans for operational changes within the organization and for our customers.
  • Serve as one of the organizations lead communication consultants, ensuring written and verbal communications meets the organizations brand standards and demonstrates an intimate understanding of the organizations strategic direction, operations, needs of employees/stakeholders/customers, and goals.
  • Work collaboratively with senior and executives leaders, as well as Marketing to ensure communication strategies are effective, consistent, and aligned with organizations goals and brand.
  • Rely on measurement practices to ensure the communication strategies continue to meet the needs of employees, supports organizations vision and mission, and utilizes the data to drive decision making.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field

Substitutions

  • 6 years of related and progressive experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree

  • 7 years in a communication role in Health Care, Health Insurance, Information Technology, and/or large corporate environment

  • Strong understanding of health care/health insurance and/or technology nomenclature
  • Has a strong passion for learning and developing their communication skillsets
  • Knowledge of grammar and AP (Associated Press) writing

Pay Range Minimum:

$67,500.00

Pay Range Maximum:

$124,800.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations.  The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
