HPE is seeking a Senior Datacenter Consultant.


On this role, you must possess an excellent understanding of datacenter infrastructure and the ability to work in an Agile environment collaborating with Sales, Architects, Partners and the customers Developers, Testers, and Analysts. You will get to work in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibilities, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation.

This position requires someone with a passion for Infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, Automation, Security and improving infrastructure agility. The candidate is required to have strong analytical abilities, work independently, have strong communication skills and working knowledge of datacenter hardware and software

Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain VMware based platforms and technologies

  • Install and maintain Linux-based platforms and technologies

  • Understand current technologies and trends related to Linux-based computing and private/hybrid cloud.

  • Use and administer automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Terraform.

  • Use and administer container and kubernetes infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into different technology requirements that meet organizational and customer objectives

  • Drive innovation with the objective to solve customers’ pain points utilizing both mature and evolving platforms

  • Contribute to the definition of future architectures of automation systems, software, and networks

  • Interact with both internal and external customers during all project phases, from planning to maintenance

  • Be mindful of customer needs and clearly communicate complex information

  • Demonstrate a high attention to detail, examining every aspect of the system

Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of datacenter IT infrastructure.

  • 4+ years of experience with Linux operating systems including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting.

  • Expertise in Virtualization technologies such as KVM, VMWare ESXi.

  • Experience in automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, etc.

  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana.

  • Experience with Linux administration, shell scripting, and open-source security tools.

  • Experience in container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift

  • Experience with maintenance and administration of container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes. Preferable OpenShift

  • Strong foundational knowledge of networking models and technologies including Ethernet, IP, VLANs, routing, bridging

  • Good understanding of cyber security

  • Experience in system monitoring tools and performance analysis tools

  • Experience working in large, complex, enterprise datacenter environments

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with HPE datacenter infrastructure products (compute, storage)

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Certification

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist (RHCS) in OpenShift Administration certification

  • Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certification is a plus

  • Working experience with storage using Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation

  • Experience in HPC and AI/ML related technology is a plus

  • Experience in Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP is a plus

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
