Information Security - Who We Are

The Information Security organization advances the overall state of security at Rubrik through critical initiatives and coordination of large security projects. Information Security builds technologies, tools, and processes to better enable teams at Rubrik to develop secure software and protect data and systems with appropriate security controls. Information Security also develops systems to monitor and respond to attacks against our assets, provides awareness education to teams on security best practices for data protection, and ensures data governance and data sharing relationships with third parties in order to securely protect Rubrik information. 

What You’ll Do

Rubrik is seeking a skilled Technical Program Manager to help launch a new Information Security Program Management Office (PMO). In addition to executing on a set of prioritized initiatives, the PMO operates as a shared service and delivery enabler for InfoSec as a whole. The PMO promotes InfoSec’s efficiency, performance, and maturity by centrally managing or governing selected departmental activities. These activities include organizing and monitoring renewals for the department’s contracts, supporting budget development and utilization, driving visibility and reporting on meaningful metrics, ensuring alignment of InfoSec’s plans and priorities, tracking progress and status on active and backlogged initiatives, and more.

Reporting to the PMO Lead, this position will drive the PMO’s service definition and launch phases because the PMO Lead is fully engaged in delivering a large-scale strategic initiative. As a key member of a small team, this position will prioritize and support information security initiatives while ensuring the PMO gets up and running with a solid foundation from which to drive its business value.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead InfoSec Leadership to consensus in defining the new PMO’s project/program services, shared services, and performance measures
  • Work with InfoSec Leadership to prioritize and frame initiatives the PMO can deliver to address delivery / maturity pain points and challenges
  • Implement the agreed-upon shared services by transitioning in-scope activities to governance or stewardship under the PMO’s operational framework
  • Lead, plan, execute, and control assigned InfoSec initiatives, covering security domains from risk and compliance(GRC)  to technology implementation (SecOps)
  • Effectively influence and collaborate to achieve continual progress on objectives while managing risks and changes

 

Ideal Background

  • 7+ years delivering initiatives in a software/SaaS company, or similar environment; Information Security experience preferred
  • Prior work or management role in a Program Management Office environment
  • Bias for action, especially in working through conflict or resolving ambiguity 
  • Solid delivery skills as a project / program manager, handling concurrent initiatives
  • Use of PMBOK / Project / Program Management best practices and methods 
  • Driven to organize, establish, and improve processes, balancing speed, efficiency, and effectiveness with internal customer involvement, consensus, and satisfaction
  • Superb interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree required; in Information Security, Information Technology Management, Business Management, or a related field is preferred
  • PMP or PgMP and CISSP, CISA, CISM or other relevant certification(s)
