Our Opportunity

Are you looking for a new challenge? Would you like an opportunity to expand your existing cyber skillset whilst being part of a team maintaining a critical operational network?

We currently have an opportunity to join our Systems Engineering job family, and work very closely with our Service Operation function that manages the day to day cyber and network activities for the Connect contract (providing critical radio, transmission and CCTV service to the London Underground) to enable the business to meet its objectives.

This Cyber Engineer role will be primarily responsible for dealing with day-to-day compliance with security policies as well as being responsible for dealing with cyber incidents and threats. The successful candidate will provide first and second line support on the Connect contract as well as field support at service delivery points on key faults and activities, whilst ensuring the use of best practices & continuous improvement in all areas of service delivery and SQE activities.

This role will be work from our site close to Southwark & Blackfriars stations, a space we co-locate within the London Underground Control Centre. You will be required to work on a rotational shift pattern that includes both days and nights.

Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Work in a team to carry out all aspects of the support of service to customer and stakeholders to Cyber Best Practice framework, primarily focusing on;

    • Event Management

    • Incident Management (including communication of failure in line with business process)

    • Service requests

  • Customer collaboration on vulnerabilities and fixes

  • Ensure compliance is met for ISO and Customer audits as well as security policies

  • Remote access administration

  • Investigate cyber incidents and determine a suitable course of action

  • Run automated Security scans

  • Prepare Cyber reports

  • Provide on-call support

  • Utilise the current business application tools to manage service operation in line with processes and contractual requirement

  • Embrace new applications and processes introduced in order to support business objectives

Technical Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in a suite of tools including but not limited to:

    • Windows Active Directory

    • Window Domain Administration

    • Anti-Virus

    • Anti Malware

    • IAM

  • Ensure all relevant Service Level Agreements are understood, met or accounted for via a logical prioritisation of activities

Human Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels

  • Customer facing experience

  • Working under pressure in an Operation and Maintenance environment

  • Experience of working using own initiative and within a team environment

Qualifications:

  • CCNA certified
