Job Description:

Full Time Assistant Professor or Instructor – Cybersecurity

Location:  Campus and online

Begin:  August 14, 2023

Louisiana State University at Alexandria (LSUA) invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Cybersecurity.  The university is especially interested in teaching faculty who are excellent in both in the classroom and online.  The ideal candidate will be able to teach a wide variety of undergraduate courses in cybersecurity.  The contact person for this search is Dr. Prakash Ghimire, Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science - pghimire@lsua.edu

Qualifications:  A Ph.D. in Cybersecurity or a related field is required for the position of Assistant Professor.  ABD will be considered if the PhD is completed by the time of hire.  For the Instructorship, an MS in Cybersecurity or a related field is required.

Responsibilities:
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
 

  • Develops and teaches face-to-face and online courses as assigned
  • Maintains high standards of instruction
  • Regularly keeps office hours and is receptive to students both in person and electronically
  • Offers quality academic advising to students
  • Actively serves on university committees and participates in institutional meetings
  • Assists with curriculum development
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
