What You’ll Be Doing
As a Sr. Consultant, Audit & Controls, you will support the Sr. manager within Office of the CIO and will work collaboratively with other team members to provide compliance oversight and support to PBDFST lines of businesses and operational areas in order to ensure policies and procedures are followed at a level commensurate with CIBC risk appetite. You will assist in the review and implementation of CIBC Standards focusing on ongoing monitoring and guidance during each review.

How You’ll Succeed
- Relationship Building- You will respond to client’s inquiries and requests, providing professional high-quality customer service for the assigned portfolio to ensure client satisfaction. You will liaise and interact with clients as part of the daily management of your portfolio.
- Administration & Analytical Thinking - Provide analysis and support to Sr. manager for initiatives that support internal clients to PBDFST. Provide support to all of PBDFST in understanding, identifying, and addressing all audit and governance activities and CIBC policies. This includes partnering with Legal Division, Compliance Dept., and Governance Risk & Controls, internal and external audit to understand implications, and assist Sr. manager to develop action plans to resolve new and pending laws and regulations that affect PBDFST.
- Business Acumen - You have a good understanding of effective IT Governance components such as Value Delivery, Strategic Alignment, Performance Management, and Risk Management. In addition, you also:
- Actively and independently monitor compliance with governing legislation for PBDFST, against a pre-defined set of criteria, in order to assess the business on at minimum a quarterly basis.
- Involved in report generation concerning the adequacy and effectiveness of processes for compliance, as well as the status control or compliance matters identified internally.
- Provide support for any required testing under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) policies, Financial Process Controls (FPC) and Operational Process Controls (OPC) for PBDFST as well as Quarterly Key Process Controls.
- Evaluate the impact of introducing new CIBC policies/standards that need to be customized and implemented within PBDFST. Provide input, analysis, and/or perspective in the design, development, communication, and maintenance of procedures.
- Address issues raised by regulatory agencies (e.g. CDIC, FCAC, and OSFI) and other CIBC governance areas such as Internal Audit, 3rd Party Risk Management Privacy, AML, and Legal concerning compliance-related matters and escalated issues.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate experience in developing, planning, and executing Internal or External Audits. You have 4 – 5 years of experience within Audit functions and have a strong understanding of Internal quality controls, processes, and CIBC Standards. Ideally, you have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), a collaborative mindset, and are well-versed in both Excel and PowerPoint.
- It’s an asset if: You have a technology background or have supported a Technology from a Governance standpoint with a focus on the client.
- You’re a certified professional. It’s an asset if you have your CISSP, CIA, or CISM designation.
- You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. You have at least five years of experience as an Information Security Consultant or a similar role
