Cyber Systems Engineering, Senior Associate

Responsibilities

 

Peraton is seeking an Cyber Systems and Security, Senior Associate to join the Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) program to add to our distinguished team to sustain and enhance the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS). The JPSS CGS is responsible for implementing JPSS Program command, control, and communications and data processing requirements for JPSS CGS-serviced missions. The JPSS is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) next-generation operational Earth observation Program that acquires and distributes global environmental data from multiple polar-orbiting satellites, playing a critical role to NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans, coasts, and space environments, which supports the Nation’s economy and protection of lives and property.

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical services for the NOAA FISMA High system computers and networks - including  software/hardware patching and NIST 800-53 high-impact security control configurations.
• Support the NOAA cyber security mission by building, configuring, troubleshooting, and updating the network security capabilities that protect NOAA core networks and information.
• Monitor network connectivity and ensure high quality data transmission using standard network tools.
• Create the established network security processes to defend and operate the national NOAA network.
• Provide technical expertise to large or complex projects.
• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for operations team members.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with BS/BA, 0 years of experience with MS/MA or 6 years with no degree.
• Experience with Information Assurance (IA) hardening and compliance, i.e. STIG & DSS compliance, documentation.
• Must have network and firewall engineering experience with designing, implementation, and maintaining layer 2 and 3 networking devices and/or firewall devices.
• Strong knowledge of the OSI 7-layer model, TCP/IP and common application layer protocols.
• Experience working with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira, Insight, Confluence, Risk Register, Crucible, etc.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance - U.S. Citizenship.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
