      Forensic Analyst & Data Engineer – Creve Ceour, MO 

 

PURPOSE

In this hybrid skillset role, the Forensics Analyst & Data Engineer will be responsible for contributing to two main functions of the team: forensic investigations and data loss prevention (DLP). Candidates with a strong background in data/IT/analytics are highly desired for this position. This role will be responsible for conducting digital forensic investigations and building, improving, and sustaining the DAR function. This role is part of the Insider Risk Management (IRM) team within the Cyber Defense Center, a global and diverse team of highly skilled experts who support Bayer’s security posture and mitigate against internal and external threats to the company. This role is also a member of a cross-functional insider risk/data exfiltration investigation team. Attention to detail, agility, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment are key for the success of this role.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct and manage digital forensic investigations including collection, preservation, examination, analysis, and reporting;
  • Ensure all digital forensics and investigations activities comply with industry best practices;
  • Support response to cyber security incidents, providing technical expertise and support for digital forensics;
  • Build and support the Data Loss Prevention-Data at Rest project;
  • Collaborate with Cyber Security, Law, Human Resources, Data Privacy, Corporate Security, and other business partners to determine requirements for data collection and analysis;
  • Manage data with the utmost integrity;
  • Embrace continuous development in support of new or evolving technologies and processes.

 

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience OR 4+ years of experience in at least one of the following disciplines: digital forensics, investigations, data engineering, data analysis in lieu of a Bachelor's degree;
  • Strong Understanding of database systems and management of large data sets;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals;
  • Ability to work independently and in a cross functional team;
  • Strong observance of confidentiality;
  • Experience with Windows and MAC operating systems;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications – Word, Excel, Power Point;
  • Solid familiarity with Office O365 (Exchange Online, Share Point, Teams);
  • Strong understanding of enterprise class networks, data stores, and cloud services;
  • Familiarity with existing and emerging cloud technology services and concepts.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting complex incidents such as insider risk, corporate espionage, data exfiltration, or other cybercrimes;
  • Knowledge of chain of custody practices for handling evidence;
  • Code development experience with any of these languages: R, Python, Java, C++, SAS;
  • Experience with user data stores on multiple endpoint and mobile device platforms.
