Why this role important to us

SimCorp is strengthening its internal security and building competencies within operational security. This role will have a direct impact on these efforts and, along with two other people, will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents. Additionally, the role involves implementing security controls, maintaining security infrastructure, and performing first-level troubleshooting of security issues.

As an IT Security Specialist, you will also participate in day-to-day server administration and join the on-call rotation, which means, you will be involved in managing the physical data centers in Denmark.

What you will be responsible for:

•    Handle day-to-day IT operations and security tasks/tickets
•    Continuously monitor traffic and system activitites
•    Regularly update and maintain security systems, such as intrusion detection/prevention systems and antivirus software
•    Be hands-on and resolve vulnerability issues and apply patches to address security weaknesses in systems and applications
•    Handle and own our asset management process and tool

What we value

•    Proficiency in using and managing security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and antivirus solutions
•    Strong understanding of network protocols, architecture, and security principles
•    Proven experience in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security incidents
•    Skills in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate routine security tasks and improve efficiency
•    Ability to conduct vulnerability assessments and implement remediation measures
•    Keen ability to notice and investigate subtle anomalies or indicators of compromise
•    Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations, determine root causes, and develop effective solutions
•    Quick learner - curious to learn, explore and innovate to deliver reliability  
•    Independent starter -  be innovative and take the initiative
•    Team Player - collaborate across boundaries and share knowledge and solve problems
•    Flexibility to handle unexpected incidents and quickly adapt to evolving security threats
•    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle incidents and service requests effectively
•    Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player attitude
•    Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest in technology
•    A service-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality support and solutions
•    Have a high ‘Sense of Urgency’ and focus on prioritizing tasks
•    Knowledge and experience of using ITSM tools, preferably Jira and Confluence
•    ITIL Foundation or higher level of ITIL certification.
