Digital Consultants is seeking a qualified Principal Cybersecurity Specialist to perform cybersecurity-related tasks designed to safeguard the security of systems and information assets by protecting against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction within the business at FT MEADE, MD. Manages information systems security, including disaster recovery, database protection, and software development. Performs technical support focused on the development, operation, management, and enforcement of security capabilities for systems and networks. within the business at FT MEADE, MD. 


Duties to include:

  • Manages information systems security, including disaster recovery, database protection, and software development
  • Performs technical support focused on the development, operation, management, and enforcement of security capabilities for systems and networks.
  • Analyzes information security systems and applications then recommends and develops effective security measures. Identifies, reports, and resolves security violations
  • Evaluate IT infrastructure in terms of risk to the organization and establish controls to mitigate loss.
  • Determines and recommends improvements in current risk management controls and implementation of system changes or upgrades
  • Works with end users to determine needs, implements policies or procedures, and tracks compliance throughout the organization.
  • Establishes, plans, and administers the overall policies, goals, and procedures for the information security function
  • Implements network security policies and procedures, ensures network (LAN/WAN, telecommunications, and voice) security access, and protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction

Requirements

  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of systems administration concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Performs a variety of complex tasks
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Leads and directs the work of others.
  • Typically reports to department management or executive.
  • May provide consultation on complex projects and be a top-level contributor/specialist in the department.
  • Must be an expert at problem-solving, identifying risk, and communicating results and recommendations to department management
  • Clearance: Secret

Education/Experience:

  • Requires a Master’s degree; or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of experience; or an Associate’s and at least 6 years of experience. One year of experience can be substituted by 15 semester hours completed toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Additional certifications (other than those required for the position) in the area of specialization may be substituted for experience but vary by certification. The degree must be in a relevant technical curriculum and experience must be related to the job duties
  • Certification: Sec+
  • Physical: The candidate, with or without reasonable accommodation, must physically be able to sit or stand for extended periods; lift objects up to 20 pounds; and require frequent physical hand dexterity and repetitive movements.
