ABOUT THE ROLE 

As a Cybersecurity Analyst at Mondia, you will play a role in safeguarding our systems and data by con-ducting day-to-day security-focused reviews and monitoring security events. This entry-level position is designed for individuals early in their careers, providing an opportunity to learn and grow under the guidance of experienced cybersecurity professionals. 

Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the first line of defence, monitoring for early warnings of potential breaches and ensuring the security of our digital assets. You will utilize various security tools and systems to identify, analyse, and respond to security incidents, contributing to the overall security posture of the organization. 

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you will work to implement best practices and enhance our security measures. Your role focuses on maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems, providing critical support in the detection and mitigation of security threats. 

Through hands-on experience and ongoing training, you will develop the skills necessary to advance in the cybersecurity field, making significant contributions to the protection of our company’s assets while building a solid foundation for your professional growth. 

 

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Continuously monitor security events using various security tools and systems to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities. 
  • Act as the first responder to security incidents, performing initial analysis and escalating issues as needed to senior team members. 
  • Conduct daily reviews of security logs, alerts, and reports to ensure the integrity and security of our systems. 
  • Identify and document any anomalies or suspicious activities, providing detailed reports to the CISO and the cybersecurity team. 
  • Utilize and maintain security tools deployed in the enterprise across regional offices and in our cloud serice provider AWS. 
  • Assist in the configuration and fine-tuning of security tools to improve their effectiveness in detecting and mitigating threats. 
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and trends, integrating this knowledge into daily monitoring activities. 
  • Analyze threat intelligence data to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies. 
  • Work closely with senior cybersecurity team members to develop a thorough understanding of the organization’s security posture and priorities.  
  • Communicate findings and provide regular updates on security incidents and vulnerabilities to the CISO and other relevant stakeholders. 
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all security incidents, actions taken, and outcomes. 
  • Prepare and present clear and concise reports on security events, highlighting key insights and recommendations 
  • Actively participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your cyber security knowledge and skills. 
  • Seek mentorship and guidance from senior team members to support your growth and development in the cyber security field. 
  • Assist in ensuring that the organization’s security practices comply with relevant regulations, standards, and policies. 
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of security best practices and procedures to enhance the organization’s overall security posture. 
  • Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities to identify and address security weaknesses. 
  • Assist in the implementation of remediation plans to mitigate identified vulnerabilities. 

Requirements

ABOUT YOU: 

  • Reporting to the CISO, Mondia Group, the role works under the guidance and supervision of the CISO, seeking approval and direction for major decisions or complex incidents. 
  • The Cybersecurity Analyst holds the authority to perform day-to-day security monitoring and incident response:  
  • This includes making initial decisions on identifying, documenting, and escalating security incidents based on predefined protocols and thresholds. 
  • Empowered to use and manage various security tools as configured by the cybersecurity team: 
  • Holds the authority to perform routine maintenance and updates on these tools. 
  • Encouraged to proactively seek learning opportunities and stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and best practices: 
  • Authorized to recommend and request additional training or resources needed to enhance personal capabilities. 
  • Operate within the framework of established security policies, procedures, and guidelines set by the organization and the CISO: 
  • Significant changes to security configurations, policies, or incident response plans must be approved by the CISO and/or the Senior Advisory Committee (SAC). 

Education: 

  • College diploma in a security, computer science, software engineering field of study completed 2-4 years ago, Bachelor degree with a field of study in computer science or software engineering completed 1-4 years ago, or equivalent experience. 
  • Evidence of continuing education, whether formal/structured or informal, in the field of security. 
  • Clear evidence of progressive experience in IT support and/or security, showcasing growth and increased responsibility through various roles or projects. 

Professional qualification:

Certifications (Desirable but not required): 

Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), or coursework towards CISSP. 

Knowledge and Skills: 

  •  Basic understanding of network security principles and practices. 
  •  Familiarity with security tools and technologies, with hands-on experience to be gained in the role. 
  •  Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001) is a plus.
