Our expansive network infrastructure spans corporate offices, studios, edge locations, on-premises data centers, and cloud environments worldwide. We are seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic team of experts dedicated to managing and operating this diverse and complex network landscape.
The OpportunityAs a Network Security Engineer, you will be integral in designing, supporting, and maintaining the services that connect our global community of Netflixers and partners and more. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop a center of excellence around network security, touching all corners of our infrastructure. You will work closely with numerous technical teams and engage in deep collaboration with our InfoSec teams to enhance our network defense capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure across various environments (corporate, studios, edge, on-prem, and cloud).
  • Work closely with Reliability Engineers and Information Security teams to ensure robust security practices and solutions are in place.
  • Drive continuous improvement in network security through regular review and revision of existing strategies.
  • Engage in proactive risk management and incident response planning.
  • Foster a culture of security awareness and integrate security best practices throughout the network life cycle.
  • Contribute to the creation and dissemination of knowledge within the company regarding network security.

Qualifications

  • Passion for network and infrastructure security with a strong connection to the industry.
  • Solid understanding of reliability engineering principles and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Curiosity and thoroughness in problem-solving — leaving no stone unturned.
  • Motivation to achieve excellence and innovate within your discipline.
  • Experience leveraging automation and advocating for infrastructure as code to streamline processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven and service availability mindset.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, bring clarity to complex situations, and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Desired Skills

  • Proficient in managing security in diverse environments such as at the edge, on-prem, and in cloud technologies.
  • Strong background in network and security protocols.
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $180,000 - $520,000

We also offer paid leave of absence programs.  Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
