The Work You Will Do:

 

The incumbent in this position is responsible for administering and maintaining end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights. The position is intended to act as a security liaison between the end users and the Division of Technology. Responsible for configuration, issues and escalations related to security for “owned” applications. Examples of applications include OnBase, Active Directory, Versa: Regulation, etc. This position coordinates security and rights management roles in external systems such as the Driver and Vehicle Information Database (DAVID), etc. Additionally, the position will also assist in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats and vulnerabilities within the organization's network and information systems.

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

 

•    Creates and disables end user accounts where applicable. Configures security / access control where applicable. Configures application features where applicable, following guidelines of Application Engineer or Systems Architect. Monitors for and responds to requests from the Helpdesk service management system, or ad-hoc from management. Maintains record of activities in the service management system by updating comments. Sets ticket status to “resolved” upon completion of issue.   
  
•    Responsible for implementing role-based security for applications including the document management system (OnBase), single licensing system (Versa: Regulation), Active Directory, etc.
 

•    Monitors security alerts and events from various sources including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security platforms. Analyzes and investigates security alerts to determine the nature and scope of potential security incidents. Documents and escalates confirmed security incidents as needed. Responds to and remediates security incidents working collaboratively with the helpdesk and infrastructure teams.

 

•    Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of security incidents, investigations, and remediation activities. Prepares and presents weekly and monthly security reports to the Security Manager or Lead Analyst. Assists in the development and maintenance of security documentation, including policies, procedures, and guidelines. 


•    Participates in security awareness and training programs to stay updated on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices. Provides guidance and support to end-users on security-related queries and issues.

 

•    Assists in the configuration, tuning, and maintenance of security monitoring tools and technologies. Collaborates with the infrastructure and helpdesk teams to optimize the performance and effectiveness of security tools.

 

•    Assist in ad-hoc tasks, projects, and initiatives as required. Performs other duties as assigned. 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Understanding of common security principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols, devices, and architecture.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to manage and administer Windows Domain accounts and security.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and security threats.

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Experience with configuring security measures and access control. and
  • Experience with Information Technology (IT) services desk solutions; and
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity incidents response tools; and
  • At least four (4) years of IT related field experience.

*Preference will be given to applicants with experience or working knowledge of cloud-based services.*
