Job Objective: 

As an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Implementation Engineer/Specialist, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of OCI environments for our organization's cloud-based applications and services. Your primary focus will be on managing the infrastructure and resources necessary to support development, testing, staging, and production environments on OCI.

Job Description: 

Reporting to Consulting Practice Manager (CGBU) –Key responsibilities include :-

Key Skills:

  • Certifications: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certifications (e.g., OCI Architect Associate etc.).
  • Tools/Tech: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Proven experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and related services.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, networking, security, and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to define OCI environment requirements for OFSAA projects and applications.
  • Design OCI environments, considering scalability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness. Create and maintain detailed documentation related to OCI environment configurations and architecture.
  • OCI Environment Provisioning and Configuration:
  • Implement automated provisioning and configuration management for OCI resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
  • Set up and configure OCI compute instances, storage volumes, networking, load balancers, and other services as required for different environments.
  • Ensure consistency and reproducibility in environment setups across different stages of the development lifecycle.

 

Environment Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor the performance and health of OCI environments, promptly identifying and resolving any issues or bottlenecks.
  • Implement proactive measures to optimize resource utilization, cost efficiency, and overall performance of OCI resources.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and capacity planning exercises to ensure environments meet current and future demands.

 Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard OCI environments against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with the security team to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Regularly review and update security configurations and access controls as needed.

 General: 

  • Collaborate with application development, operations, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with OCI environments.
  • Respond to incidents and outages related to OCI environments promptly, investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Work with cross-functional teams to coordinate incident resolution and post-mortem analysis.
