Barbaricum is seeking an Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Threat Specialist to support SOCSOUTH’s mission. The SOCSOUTH mission is to plan, prepare for, and, when directed, conduct special operations in support of USSOUTHCOM strategies, plans, and operations. The AT/FP Threat Specialist will monitor overall Antiterrorism posture to ensure the safety and protection of personnel across all operational phases.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an AT/FP threat specialist to monitor overall Antiterrorism posture for all phases of planning, design, preparation, training, operations, and safety of personnel.
  • Utilize the Core Vulnerability Assessment Management Program (CVAMP) and possess knowledge of the DoD Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) criterion.
  • Ensure AT/FP Specialists are available to provide services outside of normal duty hours.
  • Develop technological projections of threat organizations and threat systems employment for use in scenarios, models, and training in support of Force Protection.
  • Support the interpretation of collected intelligence and threat data to determine its meaning and potential impact (Reference SOF SOP).
  • Maintain updated Threat Vulnerability Assessments (TVAs) and force protection mitigation measures for all SOCSOUTH personnel and missions.
  • Coordinate with deploying units to review TVAs and establish plans for validation or creation of TVAs where applicable.
  • Coordinate with the J2-CI (Counterintelligence) and provide data inputs for the threat working group to conduct analysis and recommend response measures as needed.
  • Comply with the 32 AT Standards published in the 2017 USOUTHCOM Regulation 34-2 and the 2015 USSOCOM Directive 525-4, and be prepared to plan, coordinate, support, execute, and/or brief at the GO level on these standards.
  • Travel OCONUS to validate/update Threat Vulnerability Assessments when a level 2 AT/FP qualified individual is not available at the forward location, with an estimated 2-3 trips annually, not exceeding 5 days each.

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain a TS/SCI
  • 10 years prior military experience, with experience working in a SOF headquarters.
  • 3 years of SOUTHCOM AOR experience in operations.
  • Level II AT/FP certified.
  • Graduate of the following courses:
  • Conventional Physical Security/Crime Prevention Course
  • DoD Security Engineering Planning and Standards Blast Resistant Structural Design
  • VAPO Vulnerability Assessment Protection Option
  • Entry Control Facilities / Access Control Points (ECF/ACP) (highly desirable).
  • Familiarity with the Defense Critical Infrastructure Program (DCIP), and Risk Assessment/Risk Response/Critical Asset Identification Process.
