Exceptional information security engineers sought for a New York-based drug discovery and computational biochemistry research company.  Successful hires will be responsible for developing and improving upon security processes for the company, evaluating and resolving potential threats and vulnerabilities, and implementing and managing automation to address common security issues.

Ideal candidates will have strong knowledge of information security fundamentals, including threat detection and response, vulnerability management, penetration tests, common attack vectors, and endpoint detection and response.  Relevant areas of expertise might include operational experience in DevSecOps, developing information security policies and procedures, deploying security tools, and automating the process of detecting and mitigating potential vulnerabilities, in addition to strong programming and scripting ability.  Candidates should have excellent communication skills, and we will consider candidates at all levels of experience.

D. E. Shaw Research develops and uses advanced computational technologies to understand the behavior of biologically and pharmaceutically significant molecules at an atomic level of detail, and to design precisely targeted, highly selective drugs for the treatment of various diseases.  Among our core technologies is a proprietary special-purpose supercomputer called ANTON® which we designed and constructed to perform molecular dynamics simulations more than 100 times faster than the world's fastest general-purpose supercomputers.  We develop and refine advanced biomolecular modeling methods, software, and machine learning techniques on ANTON®, as well as on general-purpose supercomputers, in order to pursue both internal and collaborative drug discovery programs.  Our research, technologies, and pharmaceutical expertise have each played an important role in bringing six drugs into clinical trials.

We are looking to add innovative contributors who share our commitment to fostering a stimulating, positive, and collaborative work environment.
