Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center Engineering Team collaborates across all of Microsoft Security to provide world-class threat intelligence and hunting capabilities directly to our customers, security researchers, and power Microsoft's entire security suite of products. Our team leverages AI to process massive internet datasets, as well as Microsoft-created and curated content, to deliver the context and insights our customers rely on. We are currently seeking a Machine Learning Operations Software Engineer to build the next-generation Threat Intelligence platform using AI, enhancing analysts' productivity to safeguard Microsoft and its customers.

Responsibilities

As a Machine Learning Software Engineer II, you will:     

  • Collaborate with researchers, data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to design sophisticated machine learning models for Threat Intelligence.
  • Implement and fine-tune neural network architectures, including transformer-based models.
  • Monitor an optimize model performance, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Conduct experiments to evaluate model performance, robustness, and generalization.
  • Explore novel techniques and approaches to enhance model capabilities.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in deep learning, and AI research.
  • Work with large-scale datasets, preprocess them, and create appropriate data representations.
  • Deploy trained models in production environments.
  • Assume on-call duties as scheduled.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and software design skills (object-oriented design and analysis, relational database design). 
  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Python, Java, C/C++, Rust. 
  • Experience in Developing and Running Machine Learning or High-Performance Computing (HPC) applications or related experience.
  • Experience with Machine Learning software or building associated data pipelines.
  • Experience in tuning performance of ML or HPC applications.
  • Prior experience of building models and operationalizing them in production.
  • Experience in using MLOps and platforms\tools to manage ML models lifecycle.
  • Building SLM/LLM and Machine Learning solutions.

 

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
