Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Analyst with a strong background in IT operations, incident response, and third-party security assessments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, methodologies, and best practices to protect our organisation’s assets and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems. The successful candidate will have responsibility for driving security initiatives across the FinClear Group to enhance our capability to detect and respond to Cyber threats.

You will work as part of a supportive infrastructure team where you will have the opportunity to build out best cyber practices across the FinClear Group. You will develop and provide security awareness training and guidance to employees to promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cyber security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect the company's data in accordance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organisational objectives
  • Drive security compliance efforts with relevant regulations, standards, and frameworks (e.g. Essential 8, NIST, SOC 2, ASAE 3150)
  • Attending monthly tech risk committee meetings and providing board level reporting on cybersecurity efforts
  • Develop and deliver security awareness training and materials to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze security systems to detect and respond to potential security incidents and breaches including any third-party security assessments such as vendors, suppliers and partners
  • Take a key role in incident response activities to promptly identify, contain, eradicate, and recover from security incidents and breaches. Document security incidents, investigations, findings, and remediation actions in detail to maintain an accurate record and facilitate post-incident analysis and reporting
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement security technologies, tools, and solutions to enhance the organisation’s security posture and capabilities
  • Drive compliance efforts across cloud security with AWS, Azure, O365 and other SaaS platforms
  • Collaborate with our infrastructure and development teams to ensure secure system design and implementation of new technologies.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging threats to actively contribute to the company's security strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cybersecurity roles
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP are highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies
  • Proficiency in using security tools and technologies such as SIEM (Splunk, Elastic), IDS/IPS, endpoint protection (Crowd Strike), and vulnerability management systems (Crowd Strike, Ivanti Neurons)
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Experience of configuring and managing Firewalls, switches, Load Balancers and other network devices are highly desirable
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and frameworks (e.g. Essential 8, NIST, SOC 2)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse security incidents and recommend effective solutions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
