As an Security and Compliance Associate specializing, you will be integral to our cybersecurity team. This role involves leading compliance programs, contributing to security operations, and enhancing our security posture through strategic initiatives. You will work closely with various teams to ensure robust security measures are designed, implemented, and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive compliance programs, focusing on audit, continuous improvement, and maturity of our SOC 2 compliance framework.
  • Develop an understanding of company processes and collaborate with team leads to drive security initiatives.
  • Monitor, identify, and lead technical investigations of security incidents ensuring swift resolution.
  • Configure and maintain security tools across our infrastructure including VPN, web gateways, email security, endpoint protection, operating systems, cloud services, and identity & access management systems.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations on GRC processes and cybersecurity topics.
  • Assist in conducting vendor security risk assessments and monitor cybersecurity threats.
  • Contribute to the development of security policies, procedures, and user awareness training curriculums.
  • Work with the Information Security Architect and IT staff to improve security tooling and infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain security operations dashboards and metrics based on detected incidents.
  • Communicate project goals, limelines, and expectations clearly to non-technical team members, ensuring understanding and buy-in. 
  • Develop and implement project management strategies to effectively organize and prioritize tasks. 
  • Navigate competing priorities among stakeholders in order to finish projects and tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology, with at least 3 years dedicated to Information Security.
  • Proven experience with SOC 2 compliance processes as well as familiarity with ISO27001 or NIST cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Strong technical acumen with experience in scripting, cloud operations, and network administration highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across various departments to enhance security.
  • Security certification (e.g.,CISSP, CEH) is preferred.
  • Understanding of public cloud security best practices, specifically AWS and GCP.
  • Detailed note-taking and documentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex situations.
