We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America.

The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States.

 

About This Role

 

The Lead Security Specialist is responsible for the efficient and effective implementation of the physical security plan through the direct oversight of the contract security force. This includes but not limited to initial and continual training, documentation, and reporting, staffing and availability, and emergency response capabilities. The Lead Security Specialist carries out duties in a professional manner to include use of the Human Performance Tools, Safe Work Practices and Procedure Use & Adherence.

What You’ll Do 

  • Leads the day-to-day operational activities associated with the physical protection of a cGMP facility (e.g., oversees, plans, and directs the physical security force, CCTV monitoring, and access controls)
  • Develops and revises operational and tactical plans, procedures, training materials, defensive strategies, anti-terrorist measures, and other written products
  • Interfaces with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) during routine audits
  • Coordinates security requirements with other site organizations
  • Serves as an adjunct security training instructor to the physical security force and site organizations
  • Performs periodic and random security inspections and associated reports
  • Conducts walking rounds throughout the site to enforce security measures and prepares detailed reports of the rounds
  • Responds to incidents and critical concerns calmly and promptly
  • Serves as escalation contact for critical or major concerns and escalates to management, as needed
  • Provides direction and mentorship to security specialists
  • Other duties, as assigned

Who You Are

 

You will be responsible for the efficient and effective implementation of the physical security plan through the direct oversight of the contract security force. You are able to lead the daily operational activities associated with the physical protection of a cGMP facility.

 

Basic Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Homeland or Physical Security with 8 years of physical security, CCTV monitoring, access controls, and regulatory compliance
  • Prior experience leading a small team or projects
  • Effective communication, both written and oral
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify critical issues promptly and address effectively
  • Team-based attitude and ability to work within a global team environment and build relationships
  • Ability to effectively present information to others
  • Knowledge of security operations, safety regulations and procedures, including emergency response protocols
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and responds quickly to emergencies
  • Knowledge of FDA cGMP requirements
  • Ability to mentor and support others
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Valid driver’s license

 Preferred Requirements 

  • 9+ years of experience in physical security and safety practices, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience working in a cGMP facility or with the FDA
  • Experience with computer software, such as Microsoft PowerPoint Excel, Word, Teams, Adobe, etc
