More about the role:

  • Expert on Security Gateway area and solid work experience on security products. Proven track record of email security, PKI and Web Proxy solutions and help design solutions as per Security policies or access requirements for the team
  • Work as part of an Agile delivery/engineering team, providing input and carrying out cloud implementation/development tasks applicable to the product portfolio
  • As an SME, engage with the Internal Cyber Defence operations team and other stakeholders, including Security Analysts, Senior Product Managers, Delivery Managers, Security Architects, and business areas to ensure that Security Gateway products are delivered securely, protecting colleague, customer data and business data, ensuring compliance with Information Security policies and standards.
  • Review and create architectural and design documents including Solution Outline Documents, Detailed Designs, Network Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams etc. and processes to address requirements and risk mitigation strategy as defined in Information security policies. 
  • Identify areas of Information Security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines that need to be refined or developed within toolsets and have not been implemented so far. 
  • Mentor or coach junior members of the team and wider Information Security colleagues to help develop Security Gateway products within Sainsbury’s Group.
  • Understand Security Functional and Non-Functional Requirements for each project and ensure that they are fulfilled prior to going into service.
  • Be a Champion for the security gateway technologies and deployment strategies within your team from a security perspective.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experienced Hands-on Engineering skills: Email gateways, PKI and Web proxy solutions such as Netskope and Microsoft.
  • Be a part of an agile team, help formulate the technical strategy along with Product Manager and deliver items from a backlog, provide updates and provide technical advice as required.
  • Has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of IT concepts and architectures including Cloud, Network, system administration and delivery of security tools to operations and wider business.
  • Solid understanding of Information Security principles and best practices and willing to work across multiple security products and technologies.
  • Strong passion for Information Security. Good Knowledge of Security Operations practices. 
  • Information Security Management experience is a must, and certifications/qualification added advantage especially ones relating to Security Gateway products
  • Proactively takes responsibility, owns any issues arising and follows through to resolve them, recognising how individual responsibility impacts team delivery and inspires others to do the same.
