Evolver Federal is looking for a Cyber Security R&D Analyst to join our growing team in support of a large Security Operations program with our Federal client. This position is remote.

Cyber Security Solutions R&D consists of subject matter expert(s) capable of solving complex security issues, conduct R&D activities, assist with documenting Analysis of Alternative, identify, recommend, and develop capabilities to cover security gaps, assist in enhancing processes and procedures across ISD, are the highest technical escalation point for all technical issues within this task order, and work special cyber security projects assigned by CISO.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide subject matter technical knowledge and analysis to support all SOW Task Areas
  • Assist ISD by providing direction on industry best practices to ensure the client's Security Operations Center (SOC) constantly evolves as a Next Generation SOC
  • Apply principles, methods, and knowledge of the functional area to specific task requirements to develop solutions to complex problems
  • Create security controls through "user stories" based on NIST SP800 guidance, DHS policy, Client's policy, and industry best practice to mitigate security risk or gaps in our security posture
  • User stories shall be organized, categorized, prioritized, and updated to allow efficient and effective re-use of stories across the enterprise, contain testable acceptance criteria, documented in a format which is easy to share and explain along with having a clear definition of done
  • Experience with scripting language such as JavaScript, Python, Perl, Groovy, Rudy, etc. and strong skills writing SPLUNK queries to create complex SPLUNK dashboards
  • Support the design and deployment of incident response security solutions to facilitate a comprehensive defense-in-depth strategy and intrusion defense chain methodology

Required Experience and Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in a SOC working as an analyst or engineer
  • BA/BS or minimum of three years of experience in security engineering or security operations and four years of experience in security incident response
  • Have and maintain ISC2 CISSP or other comparable certification which must be approved in advance by the SOC PM on a case-by-case basis
  • US Citizenship is required along with the ability to obtain a DoD TS/SCI Clearance (this can be obtained while working).
    • Must be able to obtain an Agency-specific clearance prior to starting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance
