In the architecture team, we strive to enable and support our engineering teams in their delivery of products and services. Through light touch governance, collaborative working, and of course subject matter excellence assist in any way we can. Ensuring that we have the right designs in place allows us to not just support what we deliver today but what we will be delivering tomorrow.
We are looking for an Architect to join our team to help design, build and operate our services here at Checkout. In this role, you will join one of the most exciting startups in London and get to work on complex cloud architectures on a global scale. Do you like working on designs for high scale, leading-edge, and operating in a truly cloud-native fashion? Then we want to hear from you!

About You

• Data management and BI systems (Cloud-based ideally)
• Data visualizations
• Pattern governance
• Automation strategy
• Machine learning
• Coordination of teams (herding cats....)
• Bachelor, MSc, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cyber-Security, or Information Security

What you'll be doing

• You will collaborate with engineering teams on delivering designs and patterns for products and services, agree on approaches to new technology
• Evaluate architectures presented by the teams
• Coordinate the architecture review board governance with teams
• Facilitate the architectural patterns and socialization with teams to get an agreement
• Work with teams on developing data strategy and document
• Identifying opportunities for machine learning
• Working with engineering teams to agree on architectural principles
• Being nominated architect for the data, finance, and ML teams
