Job Title- Geopolitical Threat Intelligence Analyst (UKMEA) - AVP

Location- Mumbai, India

Role Description

As a Geopolitical Threat Intelligence Analyst, you will be instrumental in analysing and forewarning potential kinetic and cyber threats to the bank’s operations, staff and assets. You will be a subject matter expert in global geopolitical analysis, particularly concerning the UK, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa regions, and will leverage your intelligence sources, theatre expertise and knowledge of international relations to produce assessments of potential threats. You will work in collaboration with physical and cyber subject matter experts to coordinate strategy and operational response.

This position will cover the UK workday. Flexibility may be required given the nature of the role.

Your key responsibilities

  • Identify, monitor and report on geopolitical developments that could impact business operations.
  • Plan, manage and execute threat intelligence coverage strategy for the UKMEA region.
  • Manage relationships with senior stakeholders to identify priorities, maintain and enhance service delivery, develop coverage strategies.
  • Drive innovation in intelligence collection, analysis and reporting strategies.
  • Collect relevant threat intelligence from human and online sources, including professional networks and associations. Expand and enhance intel collection strategies.
  • Deliver tactical and strategic threat intelligence assessments to key stakeholders via verbal briefings, presentations, written reports.
  • Actively participate and interface with crisis management teams, providing time-critical intelligence to support crisis management operations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across information security operations to improve the bank’s capabilities to respond to threats, including framework creation and streamlining processes.

Your skills and experience

  • Keen knowledge of global geopolitics, international relations, and regional security landscapes. Specialised experience in the UKMEA region, particularly in the Middle East and Africa. Knowledge of central Europe is also preferred.
  • Experience with intelligence operations in a corporate environment, including coverage of terrorism, political and social unrest, epidemiological developments, natural hazards.
  • Strong security intelligence network, and the ability to build and develop this network further.
  • Keen analytical abilities and knowledge of the intelligence life cycle.  
  • Experience working with incident response teams e.g. crisis management.
  • Experience in cyber threat analysis or a willingness to cross train on some aspects of cyber intelligence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to break down complex issues and articulate them effectively to an English-speaking audience. Additional languages from the Middle East would benefit this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related field e.g. political science, international relations, history. A relevant Masters degree would be a bonus.
  • At least 5 years working experience in the security industry, or related geopolitical intelligence and analysis fields.
  • Experience in the financial industry is a bonus.
  • A related security certification would be beneficial but is not essential (e.g. CISSP, CISM or similar)
