Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in offensive security, security assessments, attack prevention or adversary research.
  • 3 years of experience in device security, embedded systems security, hardware security or reverse engineering.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in hardware hacking, exploit development, finding or mitigating attacks against smartphone devices.
  • Experience in defining security research strategies and building roadmaps.
  • Understanding of connectivity security postures and issues, and driving security improvement in the domain.
  • Ability to drive the collaboration with partners and stakeholders to resolve complex issues involving connectivity security.

About the job

In this role, you will lead vulnerability research for Pixel devices including hardware, firmware software, protocols, applications, drivers, and baseband implementations. You will develop experimental methods and tools to uncover security vulnerabilities. You will prove the exploitation of complex vulnerabilities, assess the likelihood of a compromise, leverage fuzz testing or other techniques to accelerate and expand our team’s attack prevention and vulnerability finding operations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define the strategy and roadmap for Pixel vulnerability research.
  • Evaluate and design innovative exploit mitigation against evolving attacker techniques.
  • Research the hardware and connectivity technologies on Pixel devices. 
  • Work with standard bodies and vendors to initiate and adopt new standards to improve overall security postures.
