As the Information Security Manager at Navy Federal, your primary responsibility will be to develop, manage, and enhance data security strategies and systems for our Overseas Military Banking Division. You will lead the implementation of robust security measures and ensure the secure handling of data across various platforms. Collaboration with IT personnel, product owners, and teams will be essential in establishing efficient data sourcing pipelines while adhering to Navy Federal standards. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security risks to enhance our overall security posture.

  • Develop and implement information security policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, including NIST 800-171 and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security gaps and recommend appropriate remediation measures.
  • Manage security incidents and breaches, including investigation, containment, and resolution.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption technologies, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance and support to IT and business units on security-related matters, including security architecture design, access control, and data protection.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with applicable security standards and regulations.
  • Stay informed about emerging threats and security technologies to continuously enhance the organization's security posture.
  • Educate and train employees on security awareness and best practices to mitigate risks. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security management roles, preferably in a medium-sized corporation.
  • Strong knowledge of common information security technologies, including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption, and endpoint protection.
  • Experience with NIST 800-171 and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standards.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Familiarity with GDPR.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • One or more professional certifications in information security management, such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), or equivalent.
  • Experience with Identity tools such as CyberArk and ForgeRock.
  • Experience working with Security Operations Centers (SOC) and 3 party security service providers.
  • Experience evaluating 3rd party security controls. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Experience with security compliance audits and regulatory requirements specific to the industry. 
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to build and motivate high-performing security teams. 
  • Prior experience in the Financial Industry. 

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
