What is a typical day for a V.M Analyst?

  • Develops risk-based mitigation strategies for networks, operating systems, and applications                                                             
  • Tracks vulnerabilities and mitigation, identifying owners and interacting with resolvers teams with good communication and technical background.
  • Creates and maintains vulnerability management policies and procedures.
  • Review and define requirements for information security solutions
  • Organizes network-based scans to identify possible network security attacks and host-based scans to identify vulnerabilities in workstations, servers, and other network hosts.                                                               

 

What skills do I need?

  • Ability to speak effectively about the technical and business impacts of a vulnerability or bug
  • Experience building risk-based mitigation strategies for networks, operating systems, and applications
  • Knowledge of system and application security threats and vulnerabilities (e.g., buffer overflow, mobile code, cross-site scripting and injections, race conditions, covert channel, replay, return-oriented attacks, malicious code).
  • Production experience with AWS, GCP or Azure, and are comfortable using security tools in these environments
  • Intermediate to advanced English (at least writing skills, cause you'll use it a lot!)
