Responsibilities

Peraton requires Senior Network Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3.  Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroad. 

 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract

(SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide

USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs),

and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network

Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and

common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct

training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

The Senior Network Engineer performs Tier three network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. The Sr. Network Engineer must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software. The Engineer must have extensive experience in areas such as network design and implementation, LAN/WAN interfacing, security, internet protocols and TCP/IP, as well as server and network infrastructure is required. This position tests and analyzes elements of network facilities, including power, software, security features, communications devices, communications lines, modems, and terminals and is responsible for the overall integration of the enterprise network. The Sr. Engineer is responsible for planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, maintenance, management and coordination of the network. This position monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources by using software and hardware tools, as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance. The Sr. Network Engineer must keep his or her technical skills updated. Engineers should study vendor products to determine those which best meet the Government’s needs. Senior Network Engineer provides guidance and direction to junior network support technicians.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and direction to team of technicians providing comprehensive systems and network engineering and architectural planning services.
  • Interfacing with O&M personnel by providing strategic design and support to projects as directed.
  • Provides leadership in the review of existing architectures on a regular basis, recommending and assisting with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements as required.
  • Overseeing systems engineering with a focus on the end-to-end functionality of complex systems of
  • Overseeing the establishment of service integration, database structure management, active directory services/DNS, Thin/zero client and
  • Overseeing the staff providing data storage with expertise in SANs technologies, NAS technologies, iSCSI, and DAS
  • Oversee portal/web services with expertise in the design of medium to large enterprise farms, geographical replication, interfacing with external data sources and integration of third- party add-ons.
  • Monitoring PKI/certificate authority
  • Oversee CRM
  • Oversee the performance of disaster recovery and backup/restore.
  • Supporting efforts for cybersecurity technology, risks identification and risk mitigation strategies related to cybersecurity, and A&A support documentation in accordance with applicable DoD and IC directives.
  • Oversee the maintenance of LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures, voice and data network systems, advanced engineering, and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.
  • Establishing SATCOM with an emphasis on IP satellite
  • Providing leadership support with Wireless networking, Application delivery networking, Cloud computing, Mobile computing, End Point management, and desktop computing
  • Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD. Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level is required.
  • Twelve years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems and network engineering, including two years of specialized experience related to the candidate’s assigned task.
  • DoDD 01-M IAT Level II AND two of the following certifications are required:
    • CCNP Security
    • CCNP Collaboration
    • CCNP Data Center
    • CCNP Enterprise with one specialist concentration
    • CCNP Enterprise with a secondary specialist concentration
    • CCDP
    • CCIoT
    • CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure
    • Cisco DevNet Professional
    • Aruba Certified Mobility Professional
    • Juniper Networks Certified Specialist
    • F5 Certified Technology Specialist
    • Riverbed Certified Performance Engineering Professional

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
