Overview

LMI is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to provide Risk Management Framework support for our Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) J9 Hosting and Compute (HaC) client. This professional will work with the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) tool to support information security processes and implement elements of program protection. This position requires a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance. This position is largely remote but requires the candidate to live within a commutable distance to Washington, DC area as occasional site visits will be required and on sometimes on short notice.

Responsibilities

  • Help with risk management, compliance reporting, and security control assessments.
  • Evaluate, develop, and enhance security requirements, policy, and tools.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments including, development of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Initiate and develop System Security Plans using Enterprise Mission Assurance Support System (eMASS).
  • Initiate and maintain RMF for client systems and manage the process through assessment and authorization.
  • Review RMF documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and meeting standards.
  • Provide guidance concerning aspects of IT cybersecurity, e.g. design and risk evaluation, throughout the entire IT Lifecycle from pre-conception to decommissioning and provide essential information to decision makers.
  • Implement and uphold security hardening standards.
  • Document security configurations and procedures to ensure consistency and maintain a secure environment, including keeping up-to-date records of security settings and regularly reviewing them for any vulnerabilities.
  • Operate in an integrated product team, working directly with the product teams to manage security systems and requirements.
  • Communicate security risks and best practices to other IT staff and users within the organization.

Qualifications

Required:

  • US Citizen with a current DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree, plus 5+ years related experience.
  • eMASS experience.
  • Security+ certification or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of start.
  • Basic understanding of the Department of Defense.
  • Ability to understand and implement NIST requirements.
  • Ability to speak with confidence and energy and with senior executives when necessary.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, a high level of integrity, critical thinking, and leadership.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills – including the ability to develop solutions in new and creative ways.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced/dynamic environment.

Desired:

  • 2 years' experience supporting Defense security.
  • CISSP certification.
  • Basic understanding of commercial cloud, how to secure data in the cloud, and access data in an environment.
  • Completed cloud training(s).
  • Experience with SCAP, Analyze Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), and cloud security tools.
  • Experience with processing and obtaining Authority to Operate (ATO) certifications.

Ability to obtain or maintain a government security clearance is required for this position, for which you must be a US citizen. Applicants selected for this position may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
