DevSecOps Developer

VES, LLC is currently seeking a highly accomplished DevOps Engineer with demonstrated success supporting and providing leadership within DoD organizations. For this position, we'll be asking you to develop end-to-end solutions to address Warfighter requests in support of our work at Picatinny, NJ. We will consider fully remote work for the ideal candidate, with the expectation of occasional travel to the work site.

We are a small business headquartered out of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. We have grown up to 47 employees, many of them getting our footprints established in other areas of the United States. This particular role will support our team in APG, MD, and Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. Established in 2014, our core competencies are the development of custom government off the Shelf (GOTS) infrastructure solutions, integrating mission command systems, and prototyping emerging technologies for use in the Army tactical architecture. We are a company built entirely of engineers, focused completely on solving the DoD's hardest software systems integration challenges.

General Job Duties:

• Follow Agile and Scrum best practices, maintain JIRA task log, use suite of DevSecOps tools including JIRA, Confluence, Nexus, GitLab. Maintain strong configuration management for newly developed software features.
• Develop and maintain devops processes for supporting - internal application builds - deployment of applications into virtual infrastructure - status reporting on build and deployment processes

Technology Skills we are Looking for:

• Understanding of managing Windows 10 and RHEL-based Linux distribution operating systems.
• Proficiency with PowerShell and Bash scripting.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and runners.
• Experience with VirtualBox and VMWare Virtual Machines.
• Experience working with Docker containers.
• Understanding of agile development methods.
• Experience with creating unattended installations in Windows 10.
• Knowledge of Windows package management with Chocolatey and/or NuGet.
• Understanding of RPM Linux package management in Linux.

Desired Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Working knowledge on building installers with InstallShield is a plus.
• Working knowledge of using Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence, Nexus a plus.
• Ability to consult with software developers on their operating system-level needs.
• Ability to work with a project team to ensure timely deliverable completion
• Ability to adapt to technical change, to include a willingness to learn new technologies, processes, and tools
• Experience using a profiler to debug performance issues
• Experience with Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence).
• Understand the entire SDLC

Required Education and Experience:

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 7+ years of experience
• CompTIA Security +
• Must have Current Secret Clearance or have the ability to obtain
