Profile Name - Senior Security Engineer , SOC

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled SOC Security Engineer to join our team. The Security Operations Center (SOC) plays a critical role in safeguarding our infrastructure, systems, and customer assets against cyber threats and attacks. The SOC Security Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to security incidents in real time, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our system and customer assets.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor security alerts and events from various sources including third-party SOC vendor alerts, network and host-based intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint security solutions, and threat intelligence feeds.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of SOC tools, technologies, playbooks, and capabilities to enhance detection and response capabilities.
• Analyze and investigate security incidents to determine root cause, impact, and appropriate response and remediation actions within defined SLAs.
• Analyze and investigate product and transaction-related security incidents to determine root cause, impact, and appropriate response and remediation actions within defined SLAs and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders as well as customers.
• Develop and maintain SOC processes and procedures, including incident detection, response, and escalation workflows.
• Develop and maintain SOC incident/ticket management platform including its configuration and workflow automation
• Conduct security assessments and audits of systems, networks, and applications to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, compliance, and external vendors teams to mitigate risks and enhance the system.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices, and provide recommendations for proactive defense measures.
• Participate in incident response exercises and tabletop simulations to validate and improve incident response capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a security operation center role, preferably in the financial services or cryptocurrency industry.
• Good communication skills
• CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or other relevant certifications would be a plus.
• Strong communication skills

• Strong creative and analytical thinking
• Should open to work in shifts including weekends
• Strong knowledge of security principles, protocols, practices, and technologies including network security, cryptography, authentication, and access control.
• Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Qrada, Datadog, Elastic SIEM, Splunk), intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint security solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
