This important role within Emerson’s Pervasive Sensing, a leading IoT solutions provider in the process automation industry, focuses on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) aspects of cybersecurity. The Cybersecurity GRC Engineer will be supporting many technologies including wireless sensing, wireless communication, networking, web development, and product hardware developed for industrial cloud and on-premises deployments.

Pervasive Sensing’s Wireless products are a peripheral technology used for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Our customers include top oil & gas, petroleum, and pharmaceutical companies. Specifically, our products transmit pressure, temperature, flow, level, and other critical measurements wirelessly back to a control system.
 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Developing and maintaining cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards. Ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing risks associated with product development, deployment and third-party vendors and partners. Developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Ensuring that products and processes comply with relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards such as IEC, ISO, NIST, and GDPR. Conducting regular compliance audits and assessments.
  • Working closely with product engineers, legal, and other departments to integrate GRC best practices into product development and company processes.
  • Developing and conducting cybersecurity training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of incident response plans. Ensuring timely reporting and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in the event of a security breach.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science from an engineering school
  • Six (6) years of applicable experience
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in cybersecurity, specifically in GRC roles.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this position
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • An ABET-accredited engineering degree  
  • Proficient in cybersecurity principles and best practices, including knowledge of relevant industry specifications, standards, and frameworks such as IEC, ISO, NIST, and GDPR
  • Experience in threat modeling, risk assessment, and vulnerability testing
  • Experience in developing and conducting cybersecurity training programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective policy development and collaborator engagement
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems and applications
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure design and deployment
