JOB SUMMARY 

The Data-Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineer Team Lead is a key role responsible for supporting the Information Security team. This hands-on role will drive Data Loss Prevention program objectives and implement DLP controls in accordance with the defined standards and policies while leading a professional team of security analysts. They will gather facts and evidence through security tools, interview associates to understand anomalous behavior, and will observe, monitor, record and document known or suspected offenses.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive DLP program objectives and implement DLP controls in accordance with the defined standards and policies
  • Lead the DLP Engineering teams to deliver on day-to-day commitments.
  • Assess, report on, develop, deliver and make recommendations regarding current and proposed architectures, strategies, and systems in the Data Protection space
  • Create and maintain documentation related to DLP solutions
  • Organize and deliver Sprint and PI initiatives and deliverables
  • Track and report key performance indicators and metrics
  • Identify gaps in controls, processes, systems and recommend solutions
  • Lead team to apply technical skills to recommend, implement, support, improve, and operate information protection technologies
  • Provide project updates to leadership in various project meetings
  • Provide subject matter expertise to management, business areas, and IT Teams as well as implement appropriate data loss prevention security controls and monitoring
  • Participate in various DLP audit, control testing and other processes
  • Employ deductive reasoning and analysis to make informed decisions and conclusions that lead to detection of mishandling of Protected Data.
  • Identify and apply relevant security controls to systems based on Protected Data classification
  • Triage and investigate suspected and actual Data-Loss Prevention violations and potential mishandling of Protected Data in association with the Privacy and/or and Human Resources team(s)
  • Write detailed case reports, file and maintain records, manage and document cases including resolutions and outcomes
  • Maintain federal IT security policies, standards, and guidance
  • Familiarity with Exchange Online, Teams, Sharepoint, Onedrive, Entra (Azure AD)
  • Powershell scripting and automation of repetitive tasks
  • Provide eDiscovery for HR, internal Legal Department, and outside counsel
  • Troubleshoot issues interfacing other teams including the Global Service Desk and the Network Operations Center.
     

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 4+ years of experience in cyber security
  • High level knowledge of Microsoft Cloud security and best practices, including Microsoft 365 compliance, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, Email Encryption, DLP, RMS, Exchange Online, eDiscovery, Microsoft Cloud App Security, Powershell, audit log reviews and interpretation
  • Working knowledge of threats to cybersecurity and understanding of the tools and tactics utilized by threat actors and insider threats
  • Critical thinking skills, accountability and taking ownership of issues and projects
  • Excellent English communications skills (written and verbal) 
  • Previous experience as team lead or management experience
  • 5+ years of experience with network or endpoint DLP solutions
  • 4+ years of experience working with a Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB)
  • One or more security related professional certifications
  • High level knowledge of Microsoft Cloud security and best practices, including Microsoft 365 compliance, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, Email Encryption, DLP, RMS, Exchange Online, eDiscovery, Microsoft Cloud App Security, Powershell, audit log reviews and interpretation
  • Critical thinking skills, accountability and taking ownership of issues and projects
  • Excellent English communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Previous experience managing a team and direct reports.
