Network & Security Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Network & Security Engineer for operational support.

Start: ASAP
1 day per week onsite, other days at home  (Hybrid work)
Language knowledge: English

 Cisco ACI/Palo Alto /VMWare NSX

 As a Support Engineer you will be part of our Network & Security Team and will be responsible for the maintenance and second-line support for the network & security equipment of our client in Brussels-Central.

🔹 You provide operational support to our customers, by performing advanced technical analysis and implementations on network equipment of multiple vendors/technologies.
🔹You will come into contact with different network environments.
🔹You participate in the maintenance of different network components (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, proxies, wireless, ...).
🔹You have good problem-solving skills and thoroughly investigate the situation and possible solutions.
🔹You handle high-priority situations and take corrective action during outages.
🔹You draw up accurate documentation, instructions and procedures and keep them up to date.
🔹Together with the team, you think about optimising our internal tools and make improvement proposals for customer environments.
🔹You strive for customer satisfaction through close cooperation with your colleagues.
🔹You provide 24-hour assistance in a rotation system (on a yearly basis, you are on duty for about 6 weeks). You will have flexible working hours, with scheduled presence for clients between 7am - 6pm. Sporadically, we may expect you at the client's premises.

🔹You have experience and/or interest in the following technologies: Switching, Routing, Firewalling, VPN, Loadbalancing, Wireless.
🔹You are familiar with and have working experience with networking equipment from various vendors such as Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers and Cisco/Aruba wireless solutions.
🔹You are fluent in English.
🔹You are eager to learn and grow further in this role.

Qualifications

SPECIFIC SKILLS

🔺Cisco Routers & Switches

🔺Practical experience with firewall technology: Fortinet, Palo Alto, F5

🔺At least 5 Years experience as a Network & Security Engineer in a large/complex environment

🔺CCNA Certification

🔺CCNP Certification (+)

🔺Expert level English

🔺F5 Certification (+)

🔺NSE4 Certification (+)

🔺NSE5 Certification (+)
