Security Engineer

Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States - Remote

Calabrio is looking for a Security Engineer to join our Information Security team! The mission of Calabrio Information Security is to protect the confidential information of Calabrio and its customers.  Calabrio is seeking a Security Engineer to advance the efficiency and effectiveness of our technical defenses against cyber threats.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and automate information security monitoring procedures that operate in cloud and on-premises environments
  • Write scripts that calculate metrics and display visualizations through the creation of dashboards using tools such as PowerBI
  • Work with data such as vulnerability assessments with AWS Inspector, intrusion prevention and anti-virus with AWS GuardDuty
  • Configure baseline monitoring with AWS Configuration
  • Develop and improve cyber event monitoring and alerting procedures with DataDog and AWS Cloudwatch
  • Improve and optimize the operation of existing security controls through automation

We’re looking for:

  • Problem solving mindset, solutions oriented and strong critical thinker
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of AWS cloud services
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in at least one of these scripting languages: Python, SQL, PowerShell
  • Knowledge of the NIST Cyber Security Framework
  • A security certification such as AWS Certified Security Specialist, CISSP or comparable
  • Team player, collaborative and able to work cross-functionally.
  • Comfortable working in a rapid-growth environment

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar discipline; or relevant, equivalent working experience
  • 3+ years scripting experience: Python, SQL, PowerShell, PowerBI
  • 3+ years’ experience with a corporate Information Security program
  • 2+ years’ hands on experience with Windows, Linux
