Position Overview:

  • The Staff DevSecOps Engineer will lead a team of software engineers and devSecOps Engineers responsible for providing platform cloud operations support to ancloud data application and data pipeline, addressing operational scale and security issues, while creating top notch cloud in 
  • You will leada team that implements sound Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) practices to enable high degrees of automation and rapid scaling.   
  • You will will work closely with the lead developers, product managers, and program managers to supporting day to day operational incident, change, and problem management cases.  
  • You will work with the technical leads to develop full production support, processes, documentation and operations plan, including monitoring/alerting solutions.  
  • You and your team will work with engineering and program leads to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure mean time to repair metrics are as low as possible. 

Responsibilities:

  • Applies subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex data issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate actions. 
  • Supports operation of the Cloud AWS environment. 
  • Provide user access/security/release/schedules management. 
  • Provide functional people management support to FTE technical staff on your team. 
  • Work with federal and contractor staff to identify Cloud operational requirements. 
  • Follow established CMS standards for implementing Cloud configurations. 
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the other contract Government Task Leads as directed by CMS. 
  • Works on problems / projects of diverse complexity and scope. 
  • Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. 
  • Strong proven analytical ability and ability to solve problems independently 

Qualifications:

  • Experience leading devSecOps engineers in supporting and administering cloud environments, such as AWS. 
  • Experience Administering/Sizing Clusters, such as Redshift/Snowflake/DataBricks/Hadoop. 
  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines, agile methodologies and DevSecOps styled deployments. 
  • Expert knowledge of Cloud components such as DevSecOps scripts, S3 access management and applications configuration. 
  • Experience in Data Organization skills, Partitioning strategies, Data retention policies for data pipeline. 
  • Excellent investigative skills to find root cause for AWS Cloud problems, to perform Impact analysis for proposed changes. 
  • Ability to identify and create detailed requirements. 
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with other contract Government resources. 
  • Industry experience a plus (Medicare, Medicaid, Healthcare or commercial insurance). 
  • Experienced with tools such as these:  AWS (server & serverless services), Ansible or Terraform, CloudFormations, Python, Jenkins, Git, Security scanning tools (Nessus, BurpSuite, Netsparker, OWASP, etc.), IaC (Infrastructure as Code) techniques for the full stack of Dev/Data Analytics, QA tools below. Potentially others…Dev/Data Analytics, QA - SaS Viya, hadoop, airflow, AWS EMR hbase, Quicksight, Apache Ranger/Knox, AWS IAM, Ambari, Hive, Sagemaker, Zepelin, Jupyter, python stack, Java stack, and potentially others)  
eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager.
Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be 5-15% per year.
