Responsibilities

Peraton seeks a DevSecOps Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintainance of  modern cloud infrastructure, with a focus on AWS for hosting DevSecOps tools.  Location:  Fort Eisenhower, GA.

This position requires working closely with DoD and Army cybersecurity organizations to ensure secure and reliable infrastructure operations. The role involves architecting cloud solutions that support scalable, secure DevSecOps tools across AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments. Collaboration with cybersecurity teams is essential to enforce security measures across the multi-cloud ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have experience in platform development, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, and CI/CD technologies, with a deep understanding of AWS and Azure platforms.

 

Tasks include:• Responsible for the overall design and implementation of modern cloud infrastructure and associated containerizations and software development platform.• Work with DoD and Army cyber organizations to ensure connectivity and reliable operations of the infrastructure.• Design and Implement Cloud Infrastructure in AWS:  focus on architecting and deploying modern cloud infrastructure specifically in AWS to serve as the primary hosting environment for DevSecOps tools, ensuring that these tools are scalable, secure, and resilient.• Ensure DevSecOps Tool Availability Across Multi-Cloud and On-Premises: Develop strategies and implementations that enable the secure and efficient distribution and operation of DevSecOps tools across the AWS and Azure platforms, as well as on-premises environments. • Collaborate with Cybersecurity Teams to enforce strict security measures that are consistent and effective across the multi-cloud ecosystem and on-premises, focusing on securing the DevSecOps tools and the data they handle.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • 5+ years of DevSecOps experience is critical, with a focus on experiences that directly relate to deploying and managing DevSecOps tools in AWS and Azure, highlighting the need for practical, hands-on experience with multi-cloud environments.
  • 1+ years of direct technical implementation experience with CI/CD technology
  • 1+ years of direct technical implementation experience with containerized software development and deployment
  • 1+ years of direct technical experience with Git version control
  • Direct technical experience in platform development, developing core platform services and implementing Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience specifically with creating and modifying production-grade GitOps deployments to cloud environments, Kubernetes Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments, and shared common services. The ideal candidate has experience with network and server administration, to include command line interfaces and scripting.
  • Experience with various PaaS Kubernetes platforms (e.g., AWS EKS, Azure AKS, VMWare TKG) and CI/CD technologies (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus).
  • In-depth knowledge of both AWS and Azure cloud services, with specific skills in implementing and managing services that support DevSecOps workflows, such as container orchestration, serverless computing, and automated deployments.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced experience with IaC tools like Terraform, specifically tailored to managing resources in AWS and Azure, to automate the setup and maintenance of the DevSecOps tooling infrastructure.
  • Expertise in Containerization and Kubernetes: Skilled in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters within AWS EKS and Azure AKS, utilizing these platforms to orchestrate containerized DevSecOps tools effectively.

  • Active TS/SCI required.

Preferred:

  • Expertise in programming languages YAML and Terraform (These languages are crucial for defining cloud resources and deployment configurations, especially for creating cross-cloud compatible setups between AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments.)
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language 
  • Familiarity with GitLab

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
