We’re looking for an experienced Principal DevSecOps Engineer to support our customers and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers.

About the role:

As a Principal DevSecOps Engineer, day begins with architecting, developing, and implementing end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles, ensuring secure and efficient processes. Collaborate with clients, designing and executing bespoke Kubernetes or Docker solutions tailored to their unique requirements, be they cloud-based or on-premises. A significant portion of my day is dedicated to constructing and perfecting CI/CD pipelines, which aids in the rapid and reliable delivery of software updates. Finally, oversee the application of GitOps principles for software delivery, reinforcing the use of version control and enabling a more streamlined and dependable deployment process.

What we are looking for: 

  • 7+ years' experience with Kubernetes or Docker, provisioning production clusters and maintaining their compliance 
  • Expertise in architecting, developing, and implementing comprehensive cluster and application lifecycles
  • Experience in collaborating with clients to architect, develop, and implement custom Kubernetes solutions, including proficiency with AWS and other cloud technologies
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies, embodying their practices and culture
  • Proficient in networking across all levels of the OSI model
  • Skilled in managing and integrating Service-Mesh technologies, such as Istio
  • Strong command of version control systems like Gitlab, including the maintenance and operation of Gitlab in cloud or on-premises environments
  • Demonstrated ability in developing software systems through CI/CD pipelines
  • Problem-solving skills, with a passion for automation, system efficiency, and security
  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable, cloud-based services for development teams
  • Implementation of GitOps for software delivery, including tools like FluxCD and ArgoCD. Knowledge of log management and analytics tools, such as PLG, Splunk, or ELK
  • Leadership in developing, maintaining, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines using cloud services and automation tools
  • Background in building, deployment, release automation, or orchestration
  • Experience with setting up AWS Cloud Services, Gitlab, Ansible, Maven, Gradle, and Single-Sign-On tools
  • Proficiency in unit/integration testing tools (e.g., JUnit, SonarQube, Fortify, Trivy)
  • Knowledge in securing and hardening Linux virtual machines and containers
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
  • Obtain Security+ within the first 90 days of employment with Raft

Highly preferred: 

  • Proficiency in writing custom Helm Charts
  • Experience with Big Data technologies, such as Kafka, Hadoop, and Cassandra
  • Polyglot programming skills across various languages and their package managers (e.g., Maven, Gradle, NPM, Yarn)
  • Advanced experience with the Istio service mesh
  • Background in supporting enterprise cloud applications or infrastructure
  • Enthusiasm for building automation using languages like Python, GoLang, or TypeScript
  • Certifications like CKA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional

Additional Requirements: 

  • Subject Matter Expert in Infrastructure as Code, with over 5 years of experience in Git, AWS Console and CLI, DevOps, and application containers
  • At least 3 years of experience in IaaS/PaaS, platform engineering, Kubernetes, GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern programming languages (Java, C#, Python, Ruby, TypeScript, Go)
  • General knowledge in using specific technologies to advance platform development, including the DoD DevSecOps Reference Architecture, Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Kustomize, and Flux
  • Familiarity with GitLab, Big Bang tools, custom Helm Charts, and security practices in development

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility

Work Type: 

  • Hybrid - San Antonio, TX
  • May require up to 10% travel

Salary Range:

  • $140,000 - $225,000
  • The determination of compensation is predicated upon a candidate's comprehensive experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities
