Responsibilities:

  • Research, evaluation and implementation of new technologies, tools and programs that impact security and engineering
  • Monitor and manage supported security tools and services to assure their performance and security posture.
  • Act as a consultant on projects for engineering teams to mitigate security concerns
  • Assist with Incident Response and auditing access and application logs.
  • Partner with SRE teams to help implement security projects 
  • Interpret security tools and penetration testing results and describe issues and fixes to developers.
  • Provide vulnerability remediation guidance and mentoring to software development engineers
  • Support privacy impact analyses for new product features
  • Maintain operational security posture to ensure IS security policies, standards and procedures
  • Support IT security infrastructure and tools
  • Support Disaster Recovery Planning - from a Security (Availability) perspective

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in security operations or related fields
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business representatives in explaining security topics clearly
  • Experience with SIEM/SOAR Logging and Alerting  technologies (ex: Splunk, DataDog, etc.)
  • Experience with Cloud and virtualized technology in environments such as AWS or GCP
  • Understanding of AWS security suites (eg. IAM, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, SecurityHub, etc.)
  • Ability  to explain vulnerabilities and weaknesses in the OWASP Top 10 to any audience, and be aware of effective defensive techniques
  • Experience with Vulnerability scanning and remediation, Network/Infrastructure Security
  • Deep understanding of authentication protocols and frameworks to include OAuth, OpenID and SSO/SAML
  • Ability to interpret dynamic/static analysis tools, and penetration test results and describe issues and fixes to non-security experts
