Do you have a passion for high scale services and working with some of Oracle's most critical customers?  We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and talented cyber security engineer with a deep interest in cloud security and incident response. This position is designed for technical security engineers adapt at navigating the complexities of cloud security and leading incident response efforts. In this key role, you will critically assess security architecture decisions, and lead the charge in incident response planning, development, and coordination. Your expertise will guide the team through intricate cloud security challenges, ensuring our defenses are both robust and adaptable.

Work You’ll Do

As a member of our team, your days will be dynamic and filled with impactful work. You’ll be at the forefront of developing strategies to protect cloud-based systems and services. Your role is pivotal in navigating the evolving landscape of cloud security, where each day brings new challenges and opportunities for innovation. Each project presents a new set of challenges, whether it’s tailoring security solutions for Oracle’s critical customers, or navigating the complexities of global compliance requirements. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Engage in cloud security architecture, design and implementation, providing expert guidance to ensure secure development and deployment practices.
  • Lead incident response efforts, coordinating with cross functional teams to manage and mitigate security incidents efficiently.
  • Develop and refine security protocols and response strategies, ensuring they align with current best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and other internal teams to enhance our security posture.
  • Play a key role in design consultations, facilitating meaningful involvement of the security team in project lifecycles and decision-making processes.

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the cybersecurity field, with a focus on cloud security, security architecture analysis, and incident response.
  • Proven expertise in cloud architecture and security principles, and a thorough understanding of risk management frameworks.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing security policies and procedures within cloud environments to safeguard against potential threats.
  • Strong technical skills in systems security analysis, proactive threat hunting, and the development of security strategies.
  • Aptitude for self-study, setting and achieving long term goals (for example, learning an unfamiliar programming language).
  • Ability to effectively assess and communicate risks and appropriate levels of urgency to management and engineering staff.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • United States Citizenship required.

Nice to Have

  • Professional cloud and security certifications, such as CISSP and CCSP.
  • Experience in conducting security architecture reviews and threat modeling.
  • Leadership in incident response, capable of guiding cross-functional teams through a response and mitigation strategy.
  • A deep understanding of the interplay between networks, systems, applications, and their data flows within the context of cloud environments.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $109,100 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
